They have been a fantastic client to work with as the topics and concepts of the book’s themselves are interesting and varied to illustrate.
Working with the in-house editorial and design team, each book has a well written brief to explain the themes of the book and the audience that it hopes to reach.
Generally stock images are avoided where possible for these covers, with the aim to create original designs that stand out in the market place.
Some covers require specific elements that need to be researched and imagery found, which is part of the task. Some stock imagery in that instance maybe needed, but usually used as elements in a new illustration. In this environment I’ve had the opportunity to create many illustrations from scratch.
